Treatments for Your Skin Below the Waist

We all know about the different treatments for the face such as Botox, fillers like Voluma, Vollure, and Volbella, and lasers. But did you know that there are many options for treatment for your lower body?

Laser skin tightening

Laser skin tightening is probably the most popular treatment for below the waist. Collagen is the protein in your skin that keeps it tight and firm. As you age, you lose collagen in the skin. Your body doesn’t make as much and it gets degraded faster. This leads to loose and saggy skin. This can be seen on the fronts and backs of your thighs as well as your buttocks. Laser skin tightening is a fast, easy, and no down-time treatment to firm up your skin and make it look more youthful. Laser skin tightening uses gentle micro-pulses of infrared light to slowly and gently heat the deeper layers of your skin. This stimulates your body to make more collagen and makes your skin firmer and tighter. Dr. Alex recommends a series of six treatments done every two to four weeks followed by a single maintenance laser skin tightening treatment once every three months after that to keep your skin looking great.

Feminine Rejuvenation

Did you know that laser skin tightening can be done on feminine areas too? This is called the feminine rejuvenation treatment. The Feminine Rejuvenation is done exactly like laser skin tightening. Unlike other treatments, the feminine rejuvenation treatment is completely external. It will tighten your skin in the area, but it has a number of additional benefits. Some women suffer from a condition called stress urinary incontinence. This is when you leak urine when you laugh, cough, sneeze, or exercise. This can happen after pregnancy or without pregnancy. Stress urinary incontinence is caused by weakening of the muscles on your pelvic floor, which hold up the uterus and bladder. When these muscles get weak, these structures move downward and it becomes harder to control urination. The heat from the feminine rejuvenation treatment stimulates your pelvic floor muscles. In this way, the feminine rejuvenation treatment treats stress urinary incontinence. The deep heating brings blood flow to the area. This helps with dryness which can occur after menopause. The heat also stimulates nerves in the area, which helps with pleasure during intimacy. The feminine rejuvenation treatment is one of the most rewarding treatments because it provides so many benefits. Dr. Alex recommends three feminine rejuvenation treatments done once a month followed by a single maintenance treatment once or twice a year.

Laser Leg Vein Treatment

Do you have pesky veins on your legs? Dr. Alex uses lasers to get rid of those veins. It works well on the thin red veins and sometimes the larger blue once. But if your veins are really large and bulge out from your skin, you may need a different treatment. The Laser Leg Vein Treatment is fast, safe, and effective. There’s no recovery time and you won’t need to wear special garments like you do when you get them injected. You can resume your normal activities right away. It can take up to three Laser Leg Vein Treatments for full results and Dr. Alex recommends spacing them out every two to three months.

Laser Toenail Fungus Treatment

Let’s face it, toenail fungus is a common concern. Lasers can be used to heat and kill your toenail fungus. This is a fast treatment that takes less than five minutes. The heat kills the fungus. Then, as your toenails grow out, you’ll see clearance starting from the base and going slowly to the tips. Since it the largest, it takes longest to see complete results on your big toe; this can take up to a year. Dr. Alex recommends three Laser Toenail Fungus Treatments done once a month. After that, Dr. Alex recommends looking at them every six to twelve months to monitor your progress. Dr. Alex also prescribes a topical prescription that you can apply at home for best results.

Kybella

We all know that Kybella can be used to get rid of the double chin. But Kybella can be used to treat stubborn fat just about anywhere on the body. Stubborn fat is fat that you can’t get rid of no matter how much you diet and exercise. Some women have saddle bags. Saddle bags are extra pockets of fat on the outer thighs. Others have what’s called a banana roll. The banana roll is a roll of fat just below the lower crease of your buttocks. It sometimes looks like a banana, hence its name. Kybella is a salt that permanently dissolves stubborn fat. You’ll need anywhere from two to six treatments done every two to three months. There is a good amount of swelling after a Kybella treatment so be prepared for that.

Qwo

Qwo is our newest injectable treatment. Qwo is the first and thus-far only FDA-approved, non-surgical, injectable treatment for cellulite. Qwo is an enzyme that breaks down the fibrous bands that get thick and pull down your skin. Qwo works best when combined with Laser skin tightening. You’ll need three sessions of Qwo done every six to eight weeks. So far, we’re seeing really good long-term results with Qwo.
