Dr. Alex had the pleasure of attending the 2019 Vegas Cosmetic Surgery conference at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas, NV from June 5, 2019 through June 8, 2019. This was the third consecutive year Dr. Alex attended the Vegas Cosmetic Surgery conference.
The Vegas Cosmetic Surgery conference is a multi-specialty event bringing together cosmetic surgeons from many fields including dermatology, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, and head and neck surgery. The great thing about bringing together physicians with different backgrounds is that each physician brings a unique perspective to their approach to aesthetics. The Vegas Cosmetic Surgery conference featured many world-renown speakers. Unlike previous years, this year there was more of a focus in minimally invasive treatments such as Botox, fillers, and laser treatments and less of a focus on surgery. This reflects what people want. Dr. Alex learned about some of the newer studies being performed on Botox including for treating the lower face and neck, new ways of using fillers, and using laser and energy-based devices in new ways for best results. There was also an outstanding Practice Management track which taught doctors ways to be more effective in their practice, better serve patients, and use of social media.
The Vegas Cosmetic Surgery conference also featured a large exhibit hall which included companies representing injectables such as Botox, laser and energy-based devices, and skin care products. The featured booth was from Evolus, makers of Jeuveau (#newtox), the newest alternative to Botox available in the United States. Evolus also sponsored a party at the Marquee night club at the Cosmopolitan hotel. The Vegas Cosmetic Surgery conference was packed with events with breakfast lectures starting at 6:30 AM, lunch lectures, talks until 6 PM, dinner sessions, and late-night events. Some of the special events Dr. Alex attended included dinner sessions discussing and demonstrating the use of injectables such as Botox and fillers and a lunch session on Alastin Skin Care, makers of the popular Skin Nectar and Hydratint sunscreen.
The Vegas Cosmetic Surgery conference was another outstanding educational event where Dr. Alex was able to see many colleagues and meet new ones. These events truly help improve what we offer to our patients. Dr. Alex will be attending The Aesthetic Show next month in Las Vegas where he will be speaking on branding.
