Vollure

What is Vollure?

vollure

Vollure is the newest member of the Juvederm family, which includes Juvederm, Voluma, and Volbella. The Juvederm family is a line of dermal fillers used to restore volume to the face. As we age we naturally lose volume in various areas. At the same time there are structural changes in the bones and we lose collagen in the skin. As a result we see signs of aging such as sagging skin, volume loss in the apples of the cheeks, parentheses lines, jowls, and smaller lips. The Juvederm family of products is designed to counteract these changes and provide a youthful, healthy, and rested appearance.

What does Vollure treat?

Vollure is specifically designed to treat moderate to severe wrinkles on the face.

How is Vollure used in treatment?

Vollure is injected into the skin using a fine needle to temporarily fill in and augment the lips and smooth fine wrinkles on the face.

How long does a Vollure treatment usually take?

The Vollure injection process generally takes only about 15 minutes. You’ll also need to allow time to consult with Dr. Alex prior to treatment. Pre-treatment with numbing medications can take up to 30 minutes.

Does the correction with Vollure last forever?

Correction with Vollure is temporary. Multiple treatments may be necessary to achieve desired results. Touch up treatments may be necessary to maintain desired results. Most patients enjoy their results for up to 18 months with optimum correction. Individual results vary.

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in the skin that helps to hydrate and add volume to your skin. In addition to its use as an aesthetic treatment, hyaluronic acid has also been used for more than 20 years for injection into arthritic joints to aid movement as well as for eye surgeries and wound repair.

Is treatment with Vollure painful?

Injections may cause some discomfort during and after the injection. The smooth consistency gel of Vollure allows Dr. Alex to administer it easily and smoothly. Vollure is injected using a fine needle to reduce injection discomfort. At A E Skin we numb the treatment area with a topical cream or injection to maximize your comfort.

What are the possible side effects of Vollure?

Treating wrinkles with Vollure is fast and safe and leaves no scars or other traces on the face. Most side effects are mild or moderate in nature, and their duration is short lasting (seven days or less). The most common side effects include, but are not limited to, temporary injections site reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. As with all skin injection procedures there is a risk of infection. People with a history of cold sores may experience a recurrence after the treatment, although this can be minimized by the use of antiviral medicines.

What makes Vollure different from other dermal fillers?

Vollure is the only hyaluronic acid filler FDA indicated for moderate to severe wrinkles on the face approved to last up to 18 months after initial treatment. The manufacturing process provides a high concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid for long-lasting results. It also works to create a smooth consistency gel that flows easily into the skin and provides a smooth, natural look and feel. All other hyaluronic acid dermal fillers currently on the market are made of granular consistency gels.
