The Aesthetic Show 2016

Dr. Alex attended The Aesthetic Show2016 from Thursday July 7, 2016 through Sunday July 10, 2016 at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas, NV. This was the sixth year in a row that Dr. Alex attended this conference desgined for cosmetic doctors and their staff to learn about what's new in cosmetics and how to improve. This year Dr. Alex attended the pre-show course on injectables, which included lectures and live demonstrations on new techniques and indication for Botox and fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, and Voluma. Dr. Alex learned new techniques for a Botox eyebrow lift and how to fill the hollows in the temples with Voluma. Lectures included various topics such as laser treatments, skin care, Botox, Voluma, and Kybella. Other lectures featured marketing which discussed how to help patients find our office and what can be done to help patients with their investments. The exhibit hall featured various vendors from laser companies such as Sciton laser, makers of the Forever Young BBL which we use in our office, to Allergan, makers of Botox, Juvederm, Voluma, Kybella, and Latisse, to skin care companies such as Elta MD, makers of the popular UV Clear sunscreen. One of the most popular topics was feminine vaginal rejuvenation, a treatment now offered by several device manufacturers which helps tighten structures which get loose after pregnancy. The treatment enhances satisfaction during intercourse and increases self-confidence. It also helps increase lubrication, which is a concern among many women around and after menopause. It also helps with stress urinary incontinence, a condition where women leak urine when they cough, sneeze, or laugh. A new exhibitor was Dr. Miami who discussed how to use social media to attract new patients with Dr. Alex. Dr. Alex also had the pleasure of having dinner meetings with Jay and Mara Shorr of The Best Medical Business Solutions and executives from Alastin Skin Care, a new skin care line we carry at A E Skin featuring the Skin Nectar, a product that helps with recovery after treatments and stimulates collagen and elastin in the skin. Dr. Alex also had the pleasure of catching up with friends such as Dr. Alexander Rivkin of Westside Aesthetics in Los Angeles, CA, inventor of the non-surgical nose job, Dr. Jason Emer of Spalding Drive Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills, CA, Dr. Andrew Ordon of the hit television show The Doctors, Dr. Miachel Persky in Encino, CA, Dr. Tahl Humes of Vitahl Medical Aesthetics in Denver, CO, and Dr. Michael Gold of Gold Skin Care in Nashville, TN, where Dr. Alex did his training. The highlight of the conference was The Aesthetic Awards which featured winners in various cosmetic categories as well as raffle prizes. The Aesthetic Show was a wonderful conference and Dr. Alex looks forward to continuing his education next year.
