The skin on the hands tends to be thicker than the skin on other areas because we use our hands to do so many things. This leads to a rough texture on the surface. A simple way to exfoliate and get a soft texture is with a physical exfoliant like salt. This smoothens the skin like sandpaper smoothens the surface of a table. Wet your hands with warm water and place a teaspoon of table salt in the palm of your hand. Rub your hands together for 30 to 60 seconds. Then rinse of all the salt thoroughly with plenty of warm water. After drying your hands apply some moisturizer and voila, soft hands. Do this every four weeks for maintenance. It can be done on other areas such as the feet. For the face, use other methods like exfoliating serums, laser peels, chemical peels, or the Clarisonic brush.
